Another introduction.

Hi. Is your name on the Berlin Wall? (I'm happier than I look here trust me) ❕❕❕ What's up guys, I'm Lee, 21, from Donaghmede in North Dublin. I feel I've introduced myself a million times in the last year but I suppose we'll do it again. A few things about me, I love travelling, my favourite places that I've been to have to be either Berlin or Stavanger in Norway. I plan on moving away soon after we finish in TUD and hopefully get a job as a designer (fingers crossed). Some hobbies that I have discovered over the last year and a half are hiking, which is so calming and refreshing, and travelling around Dublin to find the best fried chicken burger, so far Dirt Birdz in Bray is at my top spot. I've also found out that graffiti is really fun. Game Brainstorming

Idea 1: The first idea that I came up with was an 80s Miami Vice-style inspired car game where the player controls a car from a 3 rd person or top-down view, as they are being chased by police, or chasing bad guys, through Miami or another sunny location, depending on how difficult it will be to render a city. I want the player to be able to choose from several different 80s cars like the iconic white Ferrari Testarossa from Miami Vice, or the Dodge Charger from the Dukes of Hazard. I would like to have the home screen and the loading screens complete with 80s neon lights and synth-wave music. It will be similar to Subway Surfer in the mechanics, being able to move side to side to dodge oncoming cars and obstacles. I’m not sure if the car should be stationary and on a sort of treadmill or if the car should be moving through the space, so that’s something I’ll have to look into. First Playable

This week's update on my prototype is coming along quite well, not quite at the playable stage but it's coming along. Since last week I have changed my player controller as I was finding it too difficult to have the car move at a constant rate after pressing one key, so the player will have to hold the space bar to move the car and escape the police, I will then have to create a script so that if the player falls too close to the police car, the game will end. But I have created two scripts, a spawn manager and a script to control the spawn of the infinite road and the objects that will be placed onto it, and the road prefab which will infinitely spawn as the player moves forward. This week I am working on the spawning of the oncoming obstacles and I am planning on making them move towards the player but I am not sure if I want the obstacles to be in place and have oncoming cars moving or have them both move but at a different speed.
